FAQs
The practical questions, answered properly
This page covers booking, pricing, warranty, insurance and which vehicles we work on. Technical questions about a specific job live on that service's own page, and are linked at the bottom.

Booking & Visiting the Workshop
Getting your vehicle to us on Girlington Road, and what happens when it arrives.
Do I need an appointment or can I turn up?
Please book. We work on one vehicle at a time so that the technician is not splitting attention between bays, which means walk-ins usually cannot be accommodated the same day. Ring 07969 585530 or send your registration through the quote form and we will offer you the next suitable slot.
How long will my car be with you?
Diagnostics take 60 to 90 minutes, remaps and Ghost installs two to four hours, and lighting retrofits or DPF work can take most of a working day. We give you a realistic window when you book and we ring you if anything changes rather than letting you wonder.
Can I wait while the work is done?
For shorter jobs, yes, and there is seating at reception. For full-day work most customers prefer to drop off. Girlington Road is a short drive from Bradford city centre and there are bus routes on the doorstep.
Where can I park?
There is customer parking at the unit. If it is full when you arrive, there is on-street parking directly outside on Girlington Road. Please do not block the workshop shutter.
Do you offer collection and delivery?
For customers within roughly 15 miles of Bradford we can usually arrange collection and return for a fixed fee. Ask when you book and we will confirm availability and cost for your postcode.
4 questions
Pricing & Payment
How we quote, what is included, and how you pay.
Why do you not list a single price for every car?
Because the work genuinely differs between vehicles. A Ghost install on a hatchback with an accessible module is not the same job as one on a vehicle where the loom sits behind a bulkhead. We quote against your registration so the figure you are given is the figure you pay.
Is the quoted price the final price?
Yes, unless we find something during the work that changes the job, in which case we stop and ring you before spending any more of your money. We do not carry out additional chargeable work without your say-so.
How can I pay?
Card, bank transfer and cash are all accepted. Payment is taken on collection, after you have seen the work and had it explained to you.
Do you take a deposit?
For most jobs, no. Where a job requires us to order specific parts in advance, such as projector units or a replacement filter, we take a deposit covering the parts only.
4 questions
Warranty, Insurance & Legality
The questions that matter most before you modify a vehicle you rely on.
Will your work void my manufacturer warranty?
It depends on the job. A Ghost immobiliser does not modify the vehicle and does not give grounds for rejection. An ECU remap does alter the vehicle and a manufacturer can decline a related powertrain claim. We will tell you plainly which category your job falls into before you commit, not afterwards.
What warranty do you give on your own work?
Twelve months on labour across the board. Parts carry their manufacturer warranty, which is typically two years on Ghost hardware and one to two years on lighting components. If something we fitted is not right, bring it back and we will put it right.
Do I need to declare your work to my insurer?
Declare any performance modification, including remaps and TCU tuning, without exception. A Ghost immobiliser should also be declared, though in that case it often reduces your premium rather than raising it. We give you documentation for both.
Is everything you do road and MOT legal?
Yes. We do not remove DPFs, we do not delete catalytic converters and we do not fit lighting that will not pass an MOT. If someone has told you we might, they are mistaken.

Vehicles & Suitability
What we can work on, and when we will tell you not to bother.
Which makes do you cover?
The bulk of our work is Audi, BMW, Ford, Mercedes-Benz, SEAT, Skoda, Vauxhall, Volkswagen and Volvo, plus commercial vans from Ford, Mercedes-Benz, Renault and Volkswagen. We also cover most Japanese and Korean marques. Send your registration and we will confirm before you travel.
My car is high mileage. Is it still worth tuning?
Often yes, provided the engine is healthy. Mileage matters far less than condition and service history. We health check before we write anything and we will tell you honestly if your vehicle is not a good candidate.
Can you work on a vehicle that is still on finance or lease?
A Ghost immobiliser is generally fine and is often welcomed by the finance company. Performance modifications usually breach lease terms, so check your agreement first. We will not talk you into work that puts you in breach of a contract.
Do you work on motorcycles or agricultural machinery?
Not currently. We are a car and light commercial vehicle workshop and we would rather point you to a specialist than take on work outside our competence.

Ring the workshop on 07969 585530 and you will speak to someone who works on cars, not a call handler reading a script. If we are under a bonnet when you call, leave a message and we will ring you back the same day.
